At Guard Closet, we are thrilled to welcome Austin Hall as a new Visual Designer and Technician. Austin brings a wealth of experience and passion for the marching arts, and we are excited to have him join our team.

Austin's love for the marching arts began at an early age, growing up outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduating high school in 2016, he went on to march with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2016 to 2018, and aged out with The Cadets in 2019.

Alongside his performance experience, Austin has been an active teacher, starting at his alma mater in North Carolina for three years and becoming the visual caption head in 2018. In 2019, he moved to Florida, where he has taught at various high schools across the state, bringing multiple state championship runner-ups and a 44th placement overall at BOA Grand Nationals at Windermere High School as the visual caption head.

Since leaving Windermere, Austin has continued to share his expertise, teaching and serving as a featured clinician at multiple high schools across the Southeast, Texas, and even Hawaii. He has also taught drum corps at the Troopers in 2021, Louisiana Stars in 2022, and The Battalion in 2023.

Austin's experience extends beyond the marching band circuit, as he has also been involved in the indoor winds circuit. From 2020 to 2024, he taught at Horizon Winds, most recently serving as the visual caption head and assisting the group in achieving a silver medal in Independent World Class.

Currently, Austin is a drill writer and visual training specialist, working with groups across the eastern seaboard of the US and Hawaii. He is greatly looking forward to bringing his knowledge of the winds circuit to Arizona with Foreword for the 2025 season.

At Guard Closet, we are excited to have Austin on board as a new Visual Designer and Technician. His wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for the marching arts will be invaluable assets as we continue to support our clients and the broader marching arts community. Please join us in welcoming Austin to the Guard Closet team!
