Welcome Sarah Moon to Guard Closet Team
With over two decades of hands-on experience, Sarah Moon brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the world of color guard. Based in Belleville, Michigan, Sarah’s journey began as a performer and evolved into a leadership role, making her a respected figure in both scholastic and independent circuits.
Sarah's early years were spent honing her skills as a member of the Sahuaro High School Color Guard in Tucson, Arizona, where she competed at a national level in WGI. From there, she moved to Michigan and became a member of Eastern Michigan University’s Euphrosyne Winter Guard, further refining her expertise in weapons and flag performance.
In 2015, Sarah expanded her leadership experience by serving as a member and Color Guard Coordinator for Lakeshoremen Drum and Bugle Corps, where she managed visual design and training, further enhancing her organizational and teaching skills.
Her leadership path took off in 2009 as the Director of the Kennedy High School Guard in Taylor, Michigan, where she not only managed show design but also established an indoor guard program in 2012. Currently, Sarah oversees junior and senior guard teams, including the Tiger Elite Junior and Senior Guards, guiding them to competitive success.
Beyond color guard, Sarah’s role as a Technical Program Manager has honed her administrative expertise, particularly in project coordination, budget management, and team leadership. These skills translate directly into her work as a guard director, where she excels in overseeing complex logistics, managing program finances, and ensuring seamless communication between teams and stakeholders. Her ability to manage multiple moving parts, meet deadlines, and handle high-pressure situations has been invaluable in her role as Administrative Director for the Belleville Community Guard Programs.
With a focus on visual design, choreography, and program direction, Sarah has a proven track record of inspiring excellence in her teams, cultivating technical skill, and driving success in regional and national competitions. Her dedication to the art of color guard and her enthusiastic leadership continue to make a lasting impact on her local and national community.
